Satu Maaranen is a Helsinki fashion designer with a penchant for structrual couture, nature and art – we like her already! Her SS15 collection is inspired by functional folk craft, 60s space-age and the ornamental Baroque. Her expressionistic prints are handprinted and coated with an open silkscreen and some digital prints are of birchbraid, granite and wood. She hand-painted on top of the digital prints, embroidered on open silkscreen prints and printed on top of the embroideries.
