Melting

NK-11

Iconic London fashion photographer Nick Knight turned to still life, creating this series titled ‘Flora’. Exposing his images to various elements including water, heat and chemicals each has dripping effect as though they were melting away.

Florals have been an obsessive fascination for the photographer who spent 3 years regularly visiting London’s Natural History Museum studying their flora and fauna collection. Knight chose a final 46 specimens (from over 6 million species!) to photograph: “Some were like feathers of neon, breathtakingly delicate, others were like urban plans, architecturally precise… many were joyful splashes of colour like children’s paintings, carefree, happy nonsense.”
